Program Highlights
JKL x LA Galaxy
On July 16, 2025, the just keep livin Foundation was proud to be recognized as the Los Angeles Galaxy’s Community Partner of the match! Over 50 students and family members from Animo Inglewood Charter High School and Fremont High School were invited to attend – for many, it was their first-ever MLS game experience.
Two Animo Inglewood students had the incredible opportunity to take the field during the pre-game ceremony, where they were surprised with a generous check presentation to JKL from the LA Galaxy Foundation. While the Galaxy fell 1-2 to Austin FC, the JKL family walked away with a huge win thanks to this inspiring night. A heartfelt thank-you to our amazing partners at LA Galaxy!

JKL x Crisis Text Line
We are excited to announce our new partnership with Crisis Text Line! Crisis Text Line provides free, 24/7, confidential support for anyone experiencing a painful emotion, whether it’s anxiety, sadness, or challenges related to eating disorders, addiction, school, or simply having a bad day. Trained volunteer Crisis Counselors are available via text and webchat to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help individuals move toward a calmer, safer place. Sometimes that means offering helpful resources, and sometimes it simply means being there to listen.
As part of JKL’s partnership with Crisis Text Line, JKL students, staff and family members can text HAVEN to 741741 to receive confidential support in English or Spanish.
Members of the JKL community can also reach Crisis Text Line via:
- Text HAVEN to 443-Support in Whatsapp
- Text HAVEN to 442-ayudame in Whatsapp for Spanish
- Message HAVEN to connect.crisistextline.org
JKL Intern Spotlight
This summer, we had the pleasure of welcoming Chloe to the JKL team as a dedicated intern. Chloe brought a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and genuine passion for youth engagement. “I believe that no one gets to choose the cards they are dealt, so they shouldn’t be punished for them. I think that everyone should have the resources and opportunities they need to be successful, and that’s why I fell in love with JKL.”
Chloe consistently went above and beyond in her role as our summer intern. From handling backend data work, social media content, event coordination, to providing feedback at our National Teacher Training. Chloe’s professionalism and thoughtful presence left a lasting impact, and we’re proud to have been part of her journey. We wish her all the best as she begins her junior year at USC, where she is studying public policy with an emphasis on nonprofits, philanthropy, and social innovation.

WISE Scholarship Program: Meet Jacob R.
Meet Jacob R., a soon to be sophomore and a dedicated WISE Scholar with a passion for cinematography and visual storytelling. Jacob has an eye for capturing meaningful moments, and this talent truly came to life during our recent Joshua Tree camping trip. While some students focused on hiking or stargazing, Jacob found his spark behind the camera—documenting the landscape, his peers’ experiences, and the quiet beauty of the desert.
For Jacob, the opportunity to explore cinematography in a real-world setting was more than just fun—it was the start to exploring possible career options. As he continues through the WISE Scholarship Program, Jacob hopes to deepen his skills in film production and learn more about how he can use cinematography to tell stories that matter. We’re excited to see where his creativity and passion will take him next!
