The Uvalde Heart Scholarship will be annually awarded a senior high school student from Uvalde, Texas to attend Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, in memory of Maite Rodriguez, a 10-year-old student at Robb Elementary School, who was killed in a mass shooting at the school.
Maite dreamed of one day attending college at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Recipients of the Uvalde Heart Scholarship will embody the hopes and dreams of Maite and her schoolmates: possessing a devotion to academic excellence and a loving, caring, and charismatic spirit.
Financial need will also be taken into consideration when determining the most eligible candidate. The Heart Scholarship will support and empower recipients as they pursue their advanced education at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and become contributing members of the community.
