The Best Way to Get Into the Holiday Spirit!

This Holiday season, our Los Angeles just keep livin programs brought over 100 students to volunteer for the One Voice Holiday Food Program.
This was our 10th year partnering with One Voice at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. While there, we sorted and packaged food for 2,500 families living in poverty in the Los Angeles area. Our students had a great time listening to holiday music, sweating with smiles and working in teams to get everything done.
We are so grateful for this partnership and love providing such a powerful community service opportunity for our JKL students. Said one of our JKL teachers following this event,“Participating in the One Voice Charity preparation event was awe-inspiring. The scale of the effort and the number of people coming together to help support a good cause gave me hope about humanity, especially within the context of so much division and animosity that currently characterizes our nation. I was also overjoyed to see the diversity of the volunteers present, proving that there is an abundance of love and strength in diversity.  Although folding boxes can be a mundane experience, students were genuinely doing so with joy knowing all the hard work is for a good cause. It was also enjoyable seeing our students mingling with students from other schools, and engaging in a large-scale, collective effort helping those in need.”
