Mack, Jack & McConaughey 2020 – Shift to Virtual Event

March 23, 2020

We are so thankful for your commitment to MJ&M and our charity beneficiaries over the years.  Because of YOU, kids lives have been saved and there is much work still to do.  We are as committed as ever to our mission, our beneficiaries and their work, and to continuing the best event anywhere.
Because of the COVID‐19 virus and the need for temporary social distancing to preserve public health measures, we decided to call an audible – make a pivot – improvise and shift MJ&M 2020 to a virtual event, on the same date as originally planned: Thursday, April 23rd.
Said MJ&M Event Producer, Jennifer Stevens of the JHL Company, “The mission of MJ&M is important no matter the circumstances of the event and when we talked about what to do Matthew said ‘the show must go on’ and he was right! So we shifted direction and in 12 days we were able to create and produce a virtual event that was on brand with the organization, highlighted the mission of our beneficiaries and gave the engagement and excitement our attendees expect.  The virtual event model has the potential to reach and engage a broad audience of support but it must be highly curated, entertaining and respect the brand values of the organization.”
On April 23rd, along with our co-hosts of this event, Mack & Sally Brown and Jack & Amy Ingram, Matthew and Camila hosted a small virtual event for our incredible sponsors. It was a special evening featuring an incredible lineup of music including Grammy Award-Winning Singer/Songwriters and a LIVE performance by Luke Combs, who was scheduled to headline the MJ&M event in Austin. We enjoyed songs by artists who have supported MJ&M throughout the past eight years including Toby Keith, John Mellencamp, Butch Walker, Bobby Pinson, Jon Randall & Jessi Alexander, Lori McKenna and Eric Church, and we brought some new friends into the MJ&M circle such as Ryan Bingham, Waylon Payne, Emerson Hart and Wade Bowen. The evening was capped off by four songs performed LIVE by CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Luke Combs, and, as is tradition with M&M, our very own Jack Ingram playing his song, “Goodnight Moon.”
We want to give a huge thank you to all of these artists for joining us and sharing their talent, along with our loyal donors and supporters who helped us raise much-needed funds for worthy organizations empowering children.
