j.k. livin students "Go Ape" thanks to the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation

September 28, 2016

The Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Go Ape recently helped give our j.k. livin students from Roosevelt High School a life changing experience. The adventure began with an interactive safety demonstration and then students were gradually led higher and higher into the woods on zip lines, wooden stairs, balancing ropes and the ultimate Tarzan jump. This was a great bonding activity for both students and staff to work on trusting each other and themselves and overcoming fears. The first few stations were a bit slow due to students being nervous, but as the activity progressed and students built up more confidence, it became smooth sailing and the teens felt like real-life action heroes! We’re so grateful to our partners, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, for creating exciting and eye-opening experience for our j.k. livin students in the D.C area.  Read more about the Go Ape adventure on the Redskins website HERE.
